So what do you do if there are ongoing problems with stress which I haven't been able to resolve and sleep problems too which are beyond my control (due to children) ?

Hi Andrea, children and sleep is a toughie! When they sleep more, so do you. But it can seem a long haul. As for stress, see your doctor. Relaxation techniques and meditation can help too.

Hi there,
If you do your own cooking you probably have lots of favourite recipes and cookbooks. Switching to low GI eating is very much a this instead of that approach so perhaps the book for you is Low GI Eating Made Easy. It has a chapter on making the switch to low GI eating along with ideas for breakfasts, lunches and dinners for 7 days. It also has the top 100 low GI foods and ideas for using them plus the GI tables. It was published back in 2005, so you may also want to check out the latest Shopper's Guide to GI Values which has all the most recent foods that have been GI tested. If you would rather have a 12-week eating plan, then the Low GI Diet by Jennie Brand-Miller is for you. Good luck.
